Colburn Town Council meeting is on Monday 19th January. In Colburn Village Hall meeting starts at 6.30pm. Representatives from Woodlawn Communications will be attending the meeting to discuss the proposed development of 400 plus homes on greenfield site Colburn Grange, off A6136 . This is following a public consultation and prior to submitting the formal planning application. Any members of the public are welcome to attend and will be able to ask questions.

A fabulous turn out for the switch on of our Christmas lights. A HUGE thank you to the children from Colburn school for singing carols around the tree. Last night the Mayor of Colburn, Cllr Michelle Dunning, was delighted to present Janet Emmerson, who has been kindly volunteering to weed the raised beds at Broadway for Colburn Town Council for a while now. She was presented with flowers, a certificate of thanks and a medal for her hard work. The beds look lovely and will be planted with more plants soon. Thanks again Janet.
Last night The Mayor of Colburn Cllr Michelle Dunning presented the Swaledale Mountain Rescue Team with a cheque for £350 raised via a charity curry night. This was one of the Mayors chosen charities for the her Mayoral year.
Colburn Town Council Best Garden Competition & best Scarecrow will be held again this year. Judging will be the week commencing Monday 21st July and the presentation of prizes and trophies will be on Saturday 26th July in the Colburn Village Hall. On Monday 28 April, I was invited as Mayor to attend the newly formed Scout group in Richmondshire, our very own 1st Colburn Town. Scouting is an outlet for the many children in our local area. It gives them a place to go and be themselves, whilst learning new skills and having fun with friends. After seeing all the smiles and fun in the room, I can tell it's going to be a massive success and something else to be proud of for Colburn.
The countywide roll-out of knife bins is underway.
Following the success of a bin in Harrogate, 20 more bins are being sited in Ripon, Knaresborough, Boroughbridge, Northallerton, Stokesley, Thirsk, Tadcaster, Selby, Malton, Pickering, Scarborough, Whitby, Colburn, Richmond, Skipton and York.
