North Yorkshire Council
The Local Government Boundary Commission for England have published their final recommendations for new electoral arrangements for North Yorkshire.
This review is to ensure that each local councillor represents roughly the same number of electors, and that the divisions they represent reflect community identities.
It recommends 89 councillors for the county which is one fewer than now. The recommendations are for 85 single-member divisions and two two-member divisions, with most boundaries changing.
These new arrangements, shaped by hundreds of consultation responses, will take effect for the May 2027 local elections once approved by Parliament.
